Leaving footprints

Leave traces

A bodhrán is an Irish frame drum that has found its home primarily in Irish music (Irish Folk). Contrary to what you might think, the bodhrán can be used in almost any musical genre because it is so versatile and has an almost inexhaustible range of tones.

The biggest difference to other drums is how the bodhrán is played. You do not hit the skin from above, but "graze" the bodhrán with the mallet (coll. Tipper). How that works exactly and what other peculiarities are, you will learn during a lesson with me.
